Product Description

The Hosa ODL-312 Digital Audio Interface is a must - have for digital audio enthusiasts. It enables seamless and simultaneous transfer between S/PDIF optical and AES/EBU digital audio formats. This makes it perfect for connecting digital audio workstations, recorders, and other digital audio devices, regardless of their input/output format. Key features include: two - channel conversion between S/PDIF optical and AES/EBU (and vice versa), the ability to convert in both directions at the same time if needed, support for 24 - bit/96 kHz S/PDIF audio, and it comes with an AC adaptor. Some digital audio equipment may have only S/PDIF optical (Toslink) connections, while others may have only AES/EBU (XLR) connections. The ODL - 312 ensures that transfers between these two formats stay in the digital domain. When transferring from S/PDIF to AES/EBU, the SCMS (Serial Copy Management System) is disabled. Note that this unit is not compatible with the ADAT Optical Interface.

Using the Hosa ODL - 312 is easy. First, connect your device with S/PDIF optical (Toslink) output to the corresponding input on the ODL - 312. Then, connect the AES/EBU (XLR) output of the ODL - 312 to your device that has an AES/EBU input. If you want to transfer in the opposite direction, just reverse the connections. Plug in the included AC adaptor to power the unit. When using it, keep in mind that the SCMS is disabled when transferring from S/PDIF to AES/EBU. Also, don't try to connect it to an ADAT Optical Interface as it's not compatible. For maintenance, keep the unit in a dry and clean place. Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth regularly to keep it looking good and working well.
