Product Description

Don't worry about long-distance 3G-SDI runs! With the Ocean Matrix OMX-3GSDI-FIBER, you can send signals several miles at the speed of light. This compact and low-cost converter extender uses a single mode LC fiber optic cable to extend your 3G SDI signal up to 6.2 miles. It features automatic cable equalization and reclocking at 270Mbps, 1.485Gbps, and 2.97Gbps for high-quality results. Ideal for live events, rental rigs, or staging, it has a pre-conversion looping output at the transmitter and a mirrored output on the receiver. It supports 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI, with auto source format detection and up to 8 channels of 24-bit, 48kHz audio. Its small and light design allows it to fit into tight spaces. Key features include accepting all SDI formats, 1-channel video and audio transmission over fiber, and simplex LC SFP module for singlemode optical fiber cables. Technical specs: Input power is 7.5 - 15VDC, with specific cable equalization for different SDI formats, using RG6/RG59 75 ohm coax cables. It has 1-SDI and 1-fiber input, and 1-SDI (75 ohm BNC) and 1-fiber output. Dimensions are 4.1x2.5x1.0in (104x63.3x26mm) and weighs 1 lb (0.45 kg). The item includes 1 transmitter and 12VDC/1A power supply, 1 receiver and 12VDC/1A power supply, and 2 LC singlemode SFP modules.

Using the Ocean Matrix OMX-3GSDI-FIBER is easy. First, connect the transmitter to your 3G-SDI source using the appropriate coax cable (RG6 or RG59). Then, connect the single mode LC fiber optic cable to the transmitter and receiver. Plug in the power supplies for both the transmitter and receiver, using the provided 12VDC/1A power supplies. The device will automatically detect the source format and start transmitting the signal. When handling the device, avoid dropping it or exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. Keep the fiber optic cables clean and free from scratches. For maintenance, regularly check the power supplies and cables for any signs of damage. If you encounter any issues, make sure the input power is within the 7.5 - 15VDC range and that all connections are secure.
