Product Description

The ESE ES-996U 2.3 6-Digit Serial Slave is a remarkable time code display. It features six 2.3' high red LED displays, offering clear visibility from up to 70 feet away. Housed in a sleek black-textured aluminum wall-mount enclosure (5' H x 15' W x 3.5' D), it also has a rack-mount option. This unit can accept various time codes. It takes either ESE Time Code (TC76, TC89, or TC90) or SMPTE/EBU Time Code via the rear-mounted terminal block (BNC connector on rack-panel units). RS-232C ASCII Time Code (format '0', '1' or 'A' at 9600 baud) can be input through the rear-mounted 9-pin connector. It automatically detects which code is being received. You can use the rear-mounted DIP switch to configure the display for 12 or 24-hour format, or switch to show the date if the incoming time code has date information. An optional time zone offset function is available with a rear-accessible DIP switch. If it receives ESE Time Code from a timer with the tenths option, it will display minutes, seconds, and tenths of seconds.

Using the ESE ES-996U is easy. First, decide whether you want to wall-mount it or use the rack-mount option. Connect the appropriate time code source to the rear-mounted connectors. The unit will automatically detect the incoming time code. To set the display format, use the rear-mounted DIP switch. You can choose between 12 and 24-hour format, or switch to date display if your time code includes date information. If you ordered the time zone option, use the rear-accessible DIP switch to set it. When it comes to maintenance, keep the unit clean by gently wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Make sure it's placed in a dry and well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. If you have any issues with code detection or display settings, double - check your connections and DIP switch settings.
