Product Description

The Fiberplex FOI - DSE3 - RS - FC is a top - notch fiber optic isolator designed for E3 communications. It offers complete electrical isolation, making it a great choice for areas with high electrical noise or in RF shielded enclosures. The fiber optic cable is immune to interference from impulse noise, crosstalk, or EMI. It also enhances communication privacy as it doesn't radiate emissions. Moreover, compared to traditional E3 coax cabling with a 1100ft (335m) max distance, this isolator can extend the transmission distance. Multimode optics can reach up to 2km, and singlemode optics can go as far as 20km. Key features include a 34.368 Mbps data rate, compliance with ITU - T G.703, G.823, G.775 for loss of signal, and suitability for various applications like SONET ADMs, PDH equipment, and ATM WAN access routers and switches. It meets K41 protection specs for E3 systems, suppresses RFI, and uses singlemode FC optics. Technical specs show a power requirement with a voltage range of 7 - 12V (typical 9V) and 300mA supply current. It can be stored at - 40 - 85 °C and operated at 0 - 50 °C. The data rate is 34.368 Mbps, with AMI/HDB3 line encoding, a BNC interface connector. The singlemode has a 9/125μm size, 20km max distance, 1300nm wavelength, - 17dBm output power, - 35dBm receiver sensitivity, and an 18dB loss budget.

Using the Fiberplex FOI - DSE3 - RS - FC isolator is quite straightforward. First, make sure to connect it to a power source within the specified voltage range of 7 - 12V, with a typical 9V. Connect your E3 communication devices using the BNC interface connector. You can choose between multimode or singlemode optics depending on how far you need to transmit data. For short - to - medium distances, multimode optics up to 2km work well, and for longer distances, use singlemode optics that can reach 20km. When it comes to storage, keep the isolator in an environment with a temperature between - 40 and 85 °C. During operation, ensure the temperature stays between 0 and 50 °C. To maintain the isolator, keep it clean and free from dust. Avoid exposing it to strong physical shocks or vibrations. If you notice any issues, check the power supply and connections first. If the problem persists, it's best to contact the manufacturer for further assistance.
