Using the Gefen EXT - UHDA - HBTL - RX is easy. First, connect it to a compatible sender unit with a single CAT - 5e cable. Then, connect your HDMI source to the sender and your display to the receiver's HDMI output. You can also connect your audio system to the appropriate audio output ports. When powering it, note that if you're not powering a sender, the maximum power consumption is 9W, and if you are, it's 22W. Only one side needs external power thanks to the Bi - Directional Power over HDBaseT. For control, use the RS - 232 and 2 - way IR extensions when paired with a compatible sender. Keep it in a dry and cool place. The firmware can be updated via RS - 232 using the Gefen Syner - G software. If you have any issues, check the LED indicators. A blue power LED means it's powered, a green link LED shows a good connection, and a green HDCP LED indicates proper HDCP functionality.
