Product Description

The Heil Sound Parametric Receive Audio System Equalizer (PRAS EQ) is an advanced audio processor. It can significantly enhance the internal audio systems of amateur radio, shortwave, commercial, and CB receivers. With three separate equalization controls, radio operators can easily modify, shape, and improve the audio output of their receivers. Midrange frequencies are crucial for clear voice articulation in receive audio. The PRAS EQ gives operators unique control over these key frequencies. You can adjust the parametric midrange filter (MID FREQUENCY) from 400 Hz to 4 kHz, with 2.5 kHz being the sweet - spot. The MID GAIN control allows you to boost or cut these midrange frequencies by up to 15 dB. Combined with a 160 Hz low - frequency filter (LOW) and a 6 kHz high - frequency filter (HIGH), the PRAS EQ offers unparalleled control and high - quality receive audio. Technical Specifications: PRAS Weight: 3.30 lbs. PRAS Dimensions: 10.25W x 2.5H x 8.5D

Using the Heil Sound PRAS EQ is easy. First, connect it to your amateur radio, shortwave, commercial, or CB receiver. Once connected, you can start adjusting the equalization controls. To get clear voice articulation, focus on the midrange frequencies. Use the MID FREQUENCY control to set the frequency between 400 Hz and 4 kHz. We recommend setting it at 2.5 kHz for the best results. Then, use the MID GAIN control to boost or cut the midrange frequencies as you like, up to 15 dB. Also, the LOW and HIGH filters are set at 160 Hz and 6 kHz respectively, but you can fine - tune them according to your needs. When it comes to maintenance, keep the PRAS EQ in a dry and clean place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. If it gets dirty, use a soft, dry cloth to clean it. Remember not to use any harsh chemicals or abrasive materials on the device.
