Using the MOTU AVB Switch is super easy. First, connect it to a power source using the provided power adapter. Make sure the power input is between 8 - 18V DC with a 0.5A tip positive. Then, use standard CAT - 5e or CAT - 6 Ethernet cables to connect your devices to the five AVB ports. These cables can be up to 100 meters long. The switch will automatically discover the connected AVB devices and manage the network bandwidth for you, so you don't need any IT knowledge. You can also use one of the ports for standard Ethernet connection to access the internet or Wi - Fi. Check the front panel LEDs to monitor the activity of the switch.
