Product Description

The MuxLab MonoPro XLR baluns (500025 with male connector and 500026 with female connector) are great for extending a standard AES analog or digital XLR audio channel through a single Cat5e/6 cable in a professional audio setup. Ideal for rental or staging, these baluns have heavy - duty cable strain relief and come with locking XLR3 connectors. They support active microphones (with the ground pin connected at both ends). You can extend stereo signals up to 5,000ft / 1.5km or digital audio signals up to 1,400ft / 426m. The 500025 has an XLR3 plug and the 500026 has an XLR3 socket. Key features include: extending line - level audio up to 5,000ft / 1.5km via single Cat5e/6, extending digital audio up to 1,400ft / 426m via single Cat5e/6, an output impedance of 600 ohm and input impedance of 600 - 20k ohm for analog audio and 110 ohm for digital audio, a sample rate of up to 96kHz, the Cat5e/6 cable terminating inside the balun, locking metal XLR3 male/female connectors with cable strain relief, and an optional terminal for ground/shield.

Using the MuxLab Monopro XLR Female Audio Balun is quite simple. First, connect the XLR audio source to the appropriate male or female XLR3 connector on the balun. Then, attach a single Cat5e/6 cable to the balun where it terminates inside. For active microphones, make sure the ground pin is connected at both ends. When using for stereo signals, keep in mind the maximum distance of 5,000ft / 1.5km, and for digital audio, the limit is 1,400ft / 426m. As for maintenance, keep the balun in a dry and clean place. Avoid any physical damage to the locking metal XLR3 connectors and the cable strain relief. If you need to connect the ground or shield, use the optional terminal provided. Regularly check the impedance and sample rate settings to ensure optimal performance.
