Product Description

The BirdDog Flex 4K Backpack is an amazing full NDI encoder. It packs 4K NDI capabilities into an incredibly tiny package. With just one Ethernet cable, it offers everything you'd expect from BirdDog's one - cable solution, including Tally, Audio, Video, PTZ Control, Audio Intercom, and Power. There are 3 models in the Flex Family, so it can meet all your workflow needs. It's the world's smallest 4K NDI Encoder and Decoder, only slightly bigger than a credit card. BirdDog's revolutionary Studio NDI brought NDI, Power, Video, Audio, Tally, and Audio Intercom over a single Ethernet cable. The Flex 4K IN and Flex 4K BACKPACK go even further, providing an extra 15w of power. You can use the DC output to power your monitor, recorder, or camera. Key features include being the world's smallest 4K NDI Encoder, having an NP - style battery mount with 15w power pass - through, a Halo Tally, Dante support with an optional $69 license, PTZ control, audio intercom, adaptive NDI bitrate, and a RESTful API. Technical specs cover supported video formats, video I/O connectivity, audio input and output, video codec support, tally, PTZ control, network connectivity, weights, dimensions, and power details.

Using the BirdDog Flex 4K Backpack is easy. First, connect your device to the HDMI 2.0 input. Then, use an Ethernet cable to link it to your network. The device can be powered via PoE (Power over Ethernet) or the DC input. If you're using the backpack model, you can also use the NP - style battery. When using the audio input, you can choose between the HDMI or the 3.5mm audio jack. For video output, connect your monitor to the HDMI 2.0 output. Remember, the PTZ control uses a 2.5mm 4 - pole RS232 (VISCA) connection. As for maintenance, keep the device clean and dust - free. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. If you're using the optional Dante support, make sure to purchase the $69 license. And always handle the device gently to avoid any physical damage.
