Product Description

The BirdDog Flex 4K Full NDI Encoder packs 4K NDI capabilities into an incredibly tiny package. It offers a one - cable solution like other BirdDog products, carrying Tally, Audio, Video, PTZ Control, Audio Intercom, and Power over a single Ethernet cable. With three models in the Flex Family, it perfectly fits all your workflow requirements. Measuring only slightly larger than a credit card, it's the world's smallest 4K NDI Encoder and Decoder. BirdDog's revolutionary Studio NDI already provided NDI, Power, Video, Audio, Tally, and Audio Intercom over one Ethernet cable. The Flex 4K IN and Flex 4K BACKPACK go further, offering an extra 15w of power. You can use the DC output to power your monitor, recorder, or camera. Key features include being the world's smallest 4K NDI Encoder, PoE with 15w DC power output, Halo Tally, Dante Support (with a $69 optional licence), PTZ control, Audio Intercom, Adaptive NDI bitrate, and a RESTful API. Technical specs cover supported video formats, various I/O connectivity, audio input and output, video codec support, tally, PTZ control, network connectivity, weights and dimensions, and power details.

Using the BirdDog Flex 4K Full NDI Encoder is easy. First, connect it to your device via the appropriate HDMI 2.0 input. Then, use an Ethernet cable to connect it to your network. The PoE feature allows it to get power through the Ethernet cable, but you can also use the DC input if needed. You can control PTZ functions using the 2.5mm 4 - pole RS232 (VISCA). When it comes to audio, you can use either the HDMI or 3.5mm input. The Halo Tally helps you keep track of the recording status. For Dante support, you'll need to purchase the $69 licence. Remember to keep the device in a cool and dry place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. If you're not using it for a long time, turn it off and unplug it. Regularly check the connections to make sure they are secure. Cleaning the device with a soft, dry cloth can help maintain its performance.
