The Blackmagic Video Assist 5” 3G is an all - in - one device. It serves as a portable monitor, a professional recorder, a portable scope, and a great camera viewfinder solution. You can upgrade any SDI or HDMI camera with better record codecs and a larger monitor. The new design comes with 4 built - in scopes, improved focus assist features, a tally indicator, and built - in 3D LUTs. It supports formats up to 1080p60 and uses L - Series batteries for extended battery life. Truly, it combines the functions of 4 products in one! Technical details include various connections like 1 x Micro BNC for SDI video inputs and outputs, with SDI rates of 270Mb, 1.5G, 3G. There's 1 HDMI video input and output. It has only embedded audio, with a 3.5mm headphone jack for analog audio output and a mono built - in speaker. The 5 - inch screen has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a brightness of 300nits. It supports multiple audio channels via SDI and HDMI, and uses a UHS - I SD slot for storage, compatible with various SD cards. A USB Type C is available for setup, software updates, and control with the Video Assist Utility software.

Using the Blackmagic Video Assist 5” 3G is easy. First, connect your camera to the device using the SDI or HDMI input. If you want to listen to the audio, plug your headphones into the 3.5mm jack. To start recording, just press the relevant button on the device. When it comes to storage, insert your SDXC or SDHC UHS - I SD card into the UHS - I SD slot. For initial setup and software updates, use the USB Type C port to connect it to your computer. As for maintenance, keep the device clean. Wipe the screen gently with a soft cloth. Don't expose it to extreme temperatures or humidity. And remember, when you're not using it, turn it off to save battery life. Also, make sure to back up your recorded data regularly to avoid losing important footage.
