Product Description

The Decimator Design DECIMATOR 2 is a compact converter that transforms (3G/HD/SD)-SDI signals into both HDMI and NTSC/PAL outputs. It offers simultaneous scaling on both outputs and de-embedded analogue audio. Key features include auto - detection of 3G, HD, or SD (26 formats in total) and handling of synchronous source switching. It provides simultaneous scaling on HDMI and composite outputs with a max 1 - input - frame delay. The HDMI output has optional full scaling and aspect - ratio conversion and passes EIA - 708/608 closed captions to the composite output. Technical specs cover a down - converted composite output with selectable NTSC or PAL for 3G/HD inputs, unchanged SD passing, low - latency down - conversion, and multiple aspect - ratio conversion options. There's also full 16 - channel audio metering, an adjustable graticules generator, and text overlays on the HDMI output. De - embedded analogue audio is output via 2 x RCA connectors. It has an SDI active loop - through output, external dip - switch configuration, a USB port for control and firmware updates, and a locking DC power socket. The unit comes with a power supply, HDMI cable, USB cable, and mounting bracket.

Using the Decimator Design DECIMATOR 2 is straightforward. First, connect your (3G/HD/SD)-SDI source to the appropriate input on the converter. Then, connect the HDMI cable to your HDMI - compatible display and the RCA connectors for the de - embedded analogue audio. If you want to use the composite output, connect it to your NTSC/PAL device. You can adjust settings like aspect ratio, audio metering, and text overlays using the external dip - switch configuration or the USB port for more advanced control. When it comes to firmware updates, simply connect the unit to your computer via the USB cable and follow the instructions. As for maintenance, keep the unit in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. If you need to clean it, use a soft, dry cloth. And always make sure to disconnect the power before performing any cleaning or maintenance tasks.
