Product Description

The MuxLab 500000 CCTV Modular BNC Balun Signal Extender is a game - changer for security and surveillance. It enables a single composite CCTV video signal to be sent through a single unshielded twisted pair. This eliminates the need for costly and bulky coax cables. Used in pairs, it allows you to connect CCTV equipment to any convenient modular outlet, which is great for installers, end - users, and resellers. You can also use it with MuxLab’s CCTV - Audio/Video Hub (500200) to distribute the signal to multiple monitors. Key features include transmitting up to 2500 feet (760m) in black - and - white and up to 2200 feet (670m) in color via Cat 5 twisted pair. It has a BNC coax to RJ45 modular connection, a compact design, and is weather - resistant.

Using this MuxLab CCTV Balun is easy. First, use two of these baluns as a pair. Connect the BNC coax end to your CCTV equipment and the RJ45 modular end to the unshielded twisted pair cable. You can then connect the other end of the cable to a modular outlet. When using it with the MuxLab CCTV - Audio/Video Hub (500200), just follow the normal connection steps for the hub. For black - and - white signals, you can expect a transmission range of up to 2500 feet (760m), and for color signals, up to 2200 feet (670m) via Cat 5 twisted pair. As for maintenance, keep it in a dry place. Since it's weather - resistant, it can handle some outdoor conditions, but avoid exposing it to extreme weather for long periods. Also, check the connections regularly to make sure they're secure. If you notice any issues with the signal, check the cables and connections first before looking at the balun itself.
