Product Description
Introducing the BirdDog Flex 4K Out Full NDI Encoder! This encoder packs 4K NDI technology into an incredibly tiny package. It's part of the BirdDog one - cable solution, bringing you Tally, Audio, Video, PTZ Control, Audio Intercom, and Power all through a single Ethernet cable. With three models in the Flex Family, it's a perfect fit for all your workflow needs. It's the world's smallest 4K NDI Encoder and Decoder, only a bit larger than a credit card. BirdDog's revolutionary Studio NDI made it possible to transmit NDI, Power, Video, Audio, Tally, and Audio Intercom via a single Ethernet cable. The Flex 4K IN and Flex 4K BACKPACK go even further, offering an extra 15w of power to run your monitor, recorder, or camera. Key features include being the world's smallest 4K NDI Decoder, PoE support, Halo Tally, Dante Support (with an optional $69 license), PTZ control, Audio Intercom, Adaptive NDI bitrate, and a RESTful API. The supported video formats cover a wide range, from UHD to HD. It has various input and output options for video and audio, and a range of technical specifications like network connectivity, power requirements, and more.
Using the BirdDog Flex 4K Out Full NDI Encoder is easy. First, connect it to your device using the appropriate HDMI 2.0 input or output, depending on the model. Then, connect it to the network via the Ethernet RJ45 port. The PoE feature means you can power it through the network cable, but you can also use the DC input if needed. For audio, you can use either the HDMI or 3.5mm input and output ports. When it comes to PTZ control, use the 2.5mm 4 - pole RS232 connector. As for the Tally, the integrated Tricolour Halo Tally will show you the status. Keep in mind that if you want Dante Support, you'll need to purchase the $69 license. When handling the encoder, be gentle as it's a small and delicate device. Store it in a cool, dry place. Clean it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Check the connections periodically to make sure they're secure. If you're using the DC output to power other devices, don't exceed the 15w limit for the Flex 4K IN and Flex 4K BACKPACK models.
