Product Description

The Fiberplex FOI - 5401 - RL22 isolator is a top - notch solution for T1 communications. It offers complete electrical isolation, making it ideal for high - electrical - noise areas or within RF - shielded enclosures. The fiber optic cable is immune to impulse noise, crosstalk, and EMI interference, and it doesn't radiate emissions, enhancing communication privacy. FiberPlex recommends 'R' units for high - security applications as they have extra filtering and shielding for RFI suppression. With a data rate of 1.544 Mbps, it supports ISDN PRI services. The 23B + D data passes through transparently. It uses 1310nm Multimode LC optics. Power options are sold separately. Unlike traditional T1 cabling limited to 6200ft (1.89km), this unit's multimode optics can extend the transmission distance to 2km, and single - mode optics can reach up to 20km. A typical setup involves two FOI - 5401 devices at each end of the network, connected by a duplex fiber optic cable.

Using the Fiberplex FOI - 5401 - RL22 isolator is straightforward. First, place one isolator at each end of your network and connect them with a duplex fiber optic cable. Make sure to choose the appropriate power option as they are sold separately. When it comes to power, the voltage range is between 7 VDC and 32VDC, with a typical requirement of 9 VDC. The supply current is 600 mA. Keep in mind that the isolator works best within an operating temperature of 0 - 50 °C and can be stored at temperatures between - 40 - 85 °C. Avoid exposing it to extremely high - electrical - noise environments beyond its design limits. For maintenance, regularly check the fiber optic cable for any signs of damage. If you encounter any issues, ensure that the RFI suppression features are working properly and that the connections are secure.
