The Fiberplex FOI-5401-T5B Isolator is an excellent choice for T1 DS-1 or ISDN PRI Interface. The FOI-5401 and TD-5401 offer full electrical isolation for T1 communications. Ideal for high electrical noise areas or RF shielded enclosures. Fiber optic cables are immune to interference from impulse noise, crosstalk, or EMI. They also enhance communication privacy as they don't radiate emissions. FiberPlex recommends “R” units for high-security use, with added filtering and shielding to suppress RFI. Moreover, fiber optic cables can transmit data much farther than copper wiring. Traditional T1 cabling is limited to 6200ft (1.89km), but the multimode optics on this unit can extend it to 2km, and singlemode optics can reach up to 20km. A typical setup includes two FOI-5401 devices at each end of the network, connected by a duplex fiber optic cable.
