Product Description

The MuxLab 500009 CCTV Screw Terminal Balun is a great tool for security and surveillance systems. It lets you send a single composite CCTV video signal through a single unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable. This gives you more flexibility in cabling. When used in pairs, it gets rid of expensive and bulky coax cables, allowing you to connect CCTV equipment using cost - effective twisted pair cables. You can also use it with MuxLab’s CCTV - Audio/Video Hub (500200) to distribute video to multiple monitors. But note, it's not good for analog HD (HDCVI, TVI, etc.). Key features include: it can transmit up to 2500 feet (760m) in black and white via Cat 5 twisted pair and up to 2200 feet (670m) in color via Cat 5 twisted pair. It's small enough to fit side - by - side on any video multiplexer. It has BNC coax to screw terminals, a polarity identification label, cable strain relief, and is weather - resistant.

Using the MuxLab 500009 CCTV Screw Terminal Balun is easy. First, make sure to use them in pairs. Connect one balun to your CCTV equipment using the BNC coax to screw terminals. Then, connect the other end of the balun to the UTP cable. Run this cable to the other balun which should be connected to the monitor or the receiving device. If you want to distribute video to multiple monitors, you can use it with the MuxLab’s CCTV - Audio/Video Hub (500200). When using it, remember that it's not suitable for analog HD systems like HDCVI or TVI. To maintain it, keep it in a dry place as it's weather - resistant but not waterproof. Check the cable connections regularly to ensure there's no loose connection. Also, make sure the polarity is correct according to the polarity identification label.
