Product Description

The RME ADI-6432R is a top - notch 64 - channel format converter designed for professional audio needs. It effortlessly converts between MADI and AES/EBU formats. MADI can handle 64 channels of 24 - bit audio at sampling frequencies up to 48kHz, 32 channels up to 96kHz, and 16 at 192kHz. With dual redundant power supplies, it offers fail - safe operation for broadcasters and other pros. All channels can be transferred across a single cable, either coaxial (BNC) or optical network cable. This converter can be used in various applications, like two units as a digital multi - core or a single unit as an AES/EBU front end for the Hammerfall DSP MADI PCI card. It features RME's SteadyClock for low jitter operation and Intelligent Clock Control to retain the last valid sample frequency if the input signal is lost. The front panel has nearly 100 LEDs for accurate signal status display, allowing you to spot and correct errors instantly. You can also lock the control keys to prevent accidental setting changes. Key features include 64 - channel support, AES/EBU on DB25 I/O, up to 192kHz support, unique status displays for MADI and AES, RS232 and MIDI data transfer via MADI, and complete remote controllability via MIDI. Technical specs cover a wide range of details such as sample rates, digital inputs and outputs, wordclock, MIDI, and more. It has a power requirement of 100V - 240VAC, 20W, and dimensions of 19' x 7.9' x 3.5' (483 x 200 x 89mm) with a weight of 4.4 lb (2 kg). You can fully remote - control and configure the device via MIDI and query all status displays through it.

Using the RME ADI - 6432R is quite straightforward. First, connect your audio sources to the appropriate digital input ports, be it the 25 - pin D - Sub, MADI optical, or BNC MADI. Make sure to set the correct sample rate according to your needs. You can sync it with MADI, AES, wordclock, or use the internal sync. When it comes to power, just plug it into a 100V - 240VAC power source. The dual redundant power supplies ensure that even if one fails, the device keeps running. The front panel LEDs are very useful for checking the signal status. If you see any errors, correct them right away. To prevent accidental setting changes, lock the control keys. You can control the device remotely via MIDI. For maintenance, keep the device in a clean and dry environment. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. If you need to move it, handle it gently to prevent any internal damage. Regularly check the cables for any signs of wear and tear. And if you want to update the settings, use the MIDI control as described in the technical specs.
