Product Description
The RME Digiface AVB is a revolutionary audio interface that offers a glimpse into the future of audio network technology. Developed by RME, this device uses AVB to transfer up to 256 channels of audio between your PC and the audio network, with 128 channels in and 128 channels out. It comes with an additional headphone output for high-quality monitoring. With its USB 3 connection, you can stream up to 128 channels of audio at sampling rates up to 192 kHz into the AVB network and another 128 channels back. The channels are organized in configurable streams from 2 to 32 channels, allowing connections to all available AVB audio devices on the market. The accompanying software package includes an AVDECC controller, which helps you discover all AVB devices in the network and manage incoming and outgoing streams. It also has basic monitoring capabilities. Like other latest RME interfaces, the Digiface Series includes the powerful digital real-time mixer TotalMix FX, enabling unlimited mixing and routing operations. The series has a dedicated Control Room section with features like Talkback, Main/Phones, fader groups, mute groups, and full remote controllability via Mackie or OSC protocol. RME's TotalMix Remote software enhances the interface's functionality by allowing remote control via iOS, PC, or Mac. Key features include 256 channels, 16 input and output streams, Gigabit Ethernet, headphone output, wordclock I/O, USB 3, bus-powered design, and compliance with IEEE 802.1 BA AVB Stack and IEEE 1722 AVTP / 1722.1 AVDECC.
Using the RME Digiface AVB is quite straightforward. First, connect the device to your PC using the USB 3 cable. This will allow you to start streaming audio between your PC and the AVB network. You can adjust the number of channels and the sampling rate according to your needs. Remember, you can stream up to 128 channels of audio at a sampling rate of up to 192 kHz. To use the headphone output, simply plug your headphones into the designated port for high-quality monitoring. When it comes to the software, the AVDECC controller in the software package will help you find all the AVB devices in your network. You can then manage the connections of incoming and outgoing audio streams easily. The TotalMix FX mixer gives you great flexibility in mixing and routing audio. Use the Control Room section for features like Talkback and fader groups. With TotalMix Remote, you can control the interface from your iOS device, PC, or Mac. Just enter the IP address of the computer you want to control. For maintenance, keep the device clean and free from dust. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity.
