Product Description

The Zoom F3 2-Channel XLR Field Recorder is a game-changer for audio recording. With 32-bit float recording, it can capture the softest raindrops and the loudest explosions effortlessly. Its compact size allows you to place it anywhere while capturing and monitoring high-quality audio up to 192 kHz. When working in the field or on set, sound levels can change rapidly. The F3 lets you adapt to the scene without adjusting the gain or worrying about clipping. In post-production, you can work with your recordings regardless of the levels. Featuring dual A/D converters and low-noise preamps from the professional F-Series recorders, the F3 ensures high-quality recordings in any situation. It has durable side bars, a standard tripod mount, and slide-resistant rubber feet, so you can mount it on your gear or hide it in the scene. The sturdy metal casing and locking XLR connectors are designed for various environments. You can monitor your recordings accurately as the F3 displays real-time audio waveforms. The headphone output helps you listen to your recordings, and the line output lets you connect to your camera or other equipment. Key features include 2-channel/2-track recording, 32-bit float recording with dual AD converters for full dynamic range and clip-free audio, 2 discrete inputs with locking XLR connectors, real-time waveform display on the LCD, a compact and durable design, high-quality mic preamps with a super-low noise floor, recording up to 192 kHz sampling/32-bit float WAV format, a stereo 'Phone/Line Output jack with dedicated volume control, direct recording to microSDHC and microSDXC cards up to 1 TB, wireless iOS/Android remote control (Android version to be released in 2022) through an optional BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter, use as a 2-in/2-out USB audio interface (up to 24-bit/96 kHz), over 8 hours of operation with two AA alkaline batteries, power options including 2 standard AA batteries, an AC adapter (AD-17), or a USB battery pack, and wireless timecode synchronization (requires optional BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter and UltraSync Blue device by Timecode Systems).

Using the Zoom F3 2-Channel XLR Field Recorder is easy. First, insert the appropriate microSDHC or microSDXC card into the recorder. You can use two AA batteries (alkaline, NiMH, or lithium), an AC adapter (ZOOM AD-17), or USB bus power to power it. Connect your microphone or other audio source to the XLR inputs. You don't need to adjust the input gain as the dual AD converter circuits handle it. You can monitor the input signals on the LCD with the real-time waveform display. To listen to your recordings, use the headphone output. You can also connect the line output to your camera or other equipment. When recording, you can choose from different sampling rates and the 32-bit float WAV format for high-quality audio. If you want to use the wireless remote control, connect the optional BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter. For wireless timecode synchronization, you'll need the BTA-1 adapter and the UltraSync Blue device. Some things to keep in mind: Make sure to use a USB cable that supports data transfer for the USB connection. Don't exceed the maximum power consumption of 5 W. When not in use, store the recorder in a dry and cool place. Clean the recorder with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. Check the battery level regularly, especially if you're using AA batteries. And always make sure your microSD card has enough storage space before recording.
