Product Description

Sescom's X-FA2 is an amazing battery-powered 2-channel XLR line level audio over fiber optic extender system. It's a perfect fit for broadcast or corporate studios, field audio operations, OB vans, rental services, theaters, stadiums, and more. The new and improved X-A2 design gets rid of potential crosstalk issues. This kit supports optical transmission of balanced and unbalanced 24 Bit PCM - AES3 encoded line level audio signals, meeting both short and long-distance needs through multimode or singlemode optical fiber. Key features include 2-channel analog audio to fiber transmission, 24-bit digitally encoded analog audio, support for multimode fiber up to 984 feet and single mode fiber up to 12.4 miles, switchable balanced mic or line level, a wide dynamic optical range that needs no optical adjustments, and power options of an AC adapter or a standard 9VDC battery with an alkaline battery runtime of about 4 hours. Technical specs cover transmitter and receiver XLR inputs/outputs, simplex ST connectors, a 24-bit bit rate, 48Khz sampling rate, a signal to noise ratio over 85dB, and more. It's not for use with IFB systems where audio is modulated with voltage or phantom powered devices, and it has specific humidity operating ranges and dimensions/weight details.

Using the Sescom SES-X-FA2 is easy. First, connect your audio source to the 2 balanced XLR inputs on the transmitter. Then, use the appropriate optical fiber (multimode or singlemode) to connect the transmitter and receiver via the simplex ST connectors. You can switch between balanced mic or line level according to your needs. Power it up either with the AC adapter or a standard 9VDC battery. Remember, when using a battery, the alkaline battery will last about 4 hours. Keep in mind that this product is not for use with IFB systems where audio is modulated with voltage or phantom powered devices. Also, make sure the humidity is within the 20 - 90% RH range (no condensation). To maintain it, keep it clean and dry. If you're not using it for a long time, store it in a cool and dry place. And always handle it gently to avoid any damage to the connectors or internal components.
