Product Description

The Fiberplex FOI - DSE3 - SC Isolator is a game - changer for E3 communications. It offers complete electrical isolation, making it perfect for areas with high electrical noise or inside and outside RF shielded enclosures. Unlike traditional copper wiring, fiber optic cables are immune to interference from impulse noise, crosstalk, or EMI. They also enhance communication privacy as they don't radiate any emissions. What's more, fiber optic cables can transmit data over much longer distances. While traditional E3 coax cabling maxes out at 1100ft (335m), the multimode optics on this unit can reach up to 2km, and singlemode optics can go as far as 20km. Key features include a data rate of 34.368 Mbps, compliance with ITU - T G.703, ITU - T G.823, ITU - T G.775 for loss of signal. It's suitable for SONET Add/Drop Multiplexers (ADMs), PDH Equipment, ATM WAN access routers and switches, meets K41 protection specs for E3 systems, suppresses RFI, and uses multimode SC optics. Technical specs: power voltage ranges from 7V to 12V with a typical 9V, supply current is 300mA. Storage temperature is between - 40 and 85 °C, and operating temperature is 0 - 50 °C. It has a data rate of 34.368 Mbps, AMI/HDB3 line encoding, BNC interface connector. The multimode has a size of 62.5 / 125 μm, max distance of 2 km, wavelength of 1300 nm, output power of - 16 dBm, receiver sensitivity of - 33 dBm, and a loss budget of 17 dB.

Using the Fiberplex FOI - DSE3 - SC Isolator is straightforward. First, make sure the power supply voltage is within the range of 7V to 12V. Connect the device using the BNC interface connector. You can use it in areas with high electrical noise or in RF shielded enclosures as it provides complete electrical isolation. When it comes to data transmission, the multimode optics can handle distances up to 2km, and singlemode optics can reach 20km. For the best performance, ensure the operating temperature is between 0 and 50 °C. During storage, keep it in an environment where the temperature is between - 40 and 85 °C. As for maintenance, check the fiber optic cable regularly for any signs of damage. If there are any issues with data transmission, make sure the line encoding (AMI or HDB3) is set correctly and that the device is compliant with relevant ITU - T standards. Also, be aware that the device has an RFI suppression feature, so don't place it near strong RF sources that could potentially interfere with its operation.
