Product Description

The MuxLab 500086 Digital Audio Extender Kit is an incredibly versatile device. It serves as both a digital audio standards extender and converter. You can connect one Digital Coax (S/PDIF) or Digital Optical (TOSLINK) source to a Digital Audio Receiver that supports either of these input types. The receiver unit's outputs are simultaneous, allowing for efficient audio distribution. This extender can send audio signals up to 500 ft / 150m in a point - to - point setup over a single Cat5e/6 cable. It supports a wide range of standards, transmitting two channels of uncompressed lossless PCM audio or compressed 5.1/7.1 surround sound like Dolby Digital Plus or DTS - HD High Resolution Audio. Key features include the ability to convert between Digital Optical and Digital Coax, a sample rate of up to 96kHz, and a 24 - bit S/PDIF bit - stream. It has specific input and output configurations, a switch for input selection, power - over - cable functionality, comes with a 1m Digital Optical cable, and has a 110 - 240V / 5V DC 0.5A power supply with interchangeable blades.

Using the MuxLab 500086 Digital Audio Extender is easy. First, connect your Digital Coax (S/PDIF) or Digital Optical (TOSLINK) source to the appropriate input on the transmitter (Tx) unit. You can use the switch on the Tx unit to select between S/PDIF and TOSlink inputs. Then, connect the Tx unit's RJ45 output to the RJ45 input on the receiver (Rx) unit using a Cat5e/6 cable. The audio signal will be extended up to 500 ft / 150m. On the Rx unit, you'll get simultaneous Digital Coax and Digital Optical outputs, which you can connect to your audio receiver. For power, you can choose to power either the Tx or Rx unit. Just plug the power supply, which works with 110 - 240V and has interchangeable blades, into a power source. As for maintenance, keep the device in a dry and cool place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. If the device gets dirty, you can use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe it. Also, make sure the cables are properly connected at all times to ensure good audio quality.
