Product Description

The RME DTOX-32 Digital AES/EBU Breakout Box is a perfect addition for digital multichannel interfaces. It comes with two sets of D - sub connectors, each converting to 4 x XLR male and 4 x XLR female. This replaces ordinary D - sub to XLR breakout cables with a professional, sturdy, and stable rack - mounted system. The DTOX - 32 is pin - compatible with TASCAM (=RME) and Yamaha formats. It features removable rack - mount brackets. You can mount it either at the front or back. For the 25 - pin D - sub connectors, there are two selectable pinout standards: TASCAM - compatible and YAMAHA - compatible. By default, it's set to the TASCAM (RME) format. You can change the format via an internal connector inside the panel. Just use a medium - size cross - recessed screwdriver (PH - 2 size) to open the housing. This breakout box has 8 x XLR outputs, 8 x XLR inputs, and 2 x D - sub 25 - pin connectors. It supports both RME (=Tascam) and Yamaha formats with an internally switchable pinout. It fits nicely in a 19' rack.

Using the RME DTOX - 32 is quite straightforward. First, decide where you want to mount it in your 19' rack. You can use the removable rack - mount brackets to attach it either at the front or back. Then, connect your devices to the appropriate ports. You have 8 XLR inputs and 8 XLR outputs, as well as 2 D - sub 25 - pin connectors. If you need to change the pinout to match your specific device (either TASCAM or Yamaha format), you'll need to open the housing with a medium - size cross - recessed screwdriver (PH - 2 size). Inside, you'll find an internal connector to switch the format. When it comes to maintenance, keep the box clean and free from dust. Make sure all the connections are tight. If you notice any issues with the sound or connection, first check the cables and then look for any signs of damage inside the box. And always handle it with care to avoid any physical damage.
