Product Description
The Solid State Logic 500-Series E EQ MK2 module is a remarkable piece of audio equipment. It replicates the iconic sonic signature of the early 80’s classic, the equalizer section of the Solid State Logic SL 4000 E console channel strip. This legendary EQ has been used in countless classic recordings from the 80’s until now, and its popularity shows no sign of waning. The 611 design E-Series EQ is also featured on Solid State Logic’s latest audio production console, ORIGIN. This module comes with two different EQs from the console editions produced between 1981 and 1989. Each EQ has its own unique response curves and tonal character. Historically, the type of EQ in a console was identified by the colors on the LF knob caps, so these two are known as the ‘Brown’ and ‘Black’ EQs. You can easily switch between these two well - loved EQ flavors on this module. Key features include the immortal SSL 4000 E Series circuitry, a ‘Black - 242’ and ‘Brown - 02’ twin EQ design, a versatile 4 - band channel EQ, a bell curve option on HF and LF, fully parametric LMF and HMF with Q, and it's based on the classic 611E console channel strip.
Using the Solid State Logic 500 - Series E EQ MK2 module is quite straightforward. First, connect it properly to your audio setup. You can switch between the 'Brown' and 'Black' EQ flavors to get the sound you like for your recordings. For adjusting the tones, use the 4 - band channel EQ. The bell curve option on HF and LF can help you fine - tune the high and low frequencies. And when you need more precise control, use the fully parametric LMF and HMF with Q. As for maintenance, keep it in a clean and dry place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. Also, when you're not using it, turn it off to save energy and prolong its lifespan. If you notice any issues, it's best to contact a professional technician for repair.
