Product Description

Bring the incredible power of Pro Tools | HDX to your desktop or studio setup with this amazing Thunderbolt 3 chassis, developed in partnership with Sonnet. This 1U rack-mountable chassis can hold a single HDX PCIe card (not included) and a Mac mini, offering portability and seamless connection to high-performance computers. You can even get a ready-to-use HDX system in one convenient bundle. Key features include connecting HDX via Thunderbolt 3. The rackmount chassis can safely house a Mac mini and HDX card, allowing you to create a powerful yet portable self - contained system. It can be easily switched between rack - mount and desktop use, making it a breeze to move HDX between your home studio, professional facilities, live rigs, and hotel rooms. Technical specs: It comes as a desktop or rackmount chassis, with conversion accessories available. There's one expansion slot for a Pro Tools | HDX PCIe card (sold separately). It has two Thunderbolt 3 ports, one for computer connection and one for daisy - chaining up to five more Thunderbolt/USB devices. There's also a USB 3.0 port on the front panel of the rackmount chassis. It has an internal enclosure for an optional Mac mini with Thunderbolt 3 ports (rackmount only). The Thunderbolt interface offers 40 Gbit/s bandwidth, and the PCIe interface has 2,750 MB/s. It runs on a 96W power supply, operates at 32 - 95 F (0 - 35 C), and has specific dimensions for both desktop and rackmount versions.

Using this chassis is quite straightforward. First, if you're using a Mac mini, place it in the internal enclosure of the rackmount chassis. Then, insert your Pro Tools | HDX PCIe card into the expansion slot. Connect your computer to one of the Thunderbolt 3 ports. If you have other Thunderbolt/USB devices, you can daisy - chain them using the second Thunderbolt 3 port. You can also use the USB 3.0 port on the front panel for additional connections. When moving the chassis, make sure it's powered off to avoid any damage. As for maintenance, keep the chassis in a clean and dry environment. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures outside the 32 - 95 F (0 - 35 C) range. Periodically check the connections to ensure they're secure. If you plan to convert it between rackmount and desktop use, follow the instructions provided with the conversion accessories carefully.
