Product Description
The Fiberplex FOI - DST3 - S - ST Fiber Optic Isolator is a great solution for T3 or DS3 communications. It offers complete electrical isolation, making it perfect for areas with high electrical noise or in and out of RF shielded enclosures. The fiber optic cable is immune to interference from impulse noise, crosstalk, and EMI. It also enhances communication privacy as it doesn't radiate any emissions. Additionally, compared to traditional copper wiring, fiber optic cable can transmit data over much longer distances. While traditional T3 coax cabling is limited to 1100ft (335m), the multimode optics on this unit can extend the distance to 2km, and singlemode optics can reach up to 20km. Key features include a data rate of 44.736 Mbps, compliance with ANSI T1.102 - 1993, Telcordia GR - 499 - COR, and ITU - T G.775 for loss of signal. It's suitable for applications like SONET Add/Drop Multiplexers (ADMs), PDH Equipment, ATM WAN access routers and switches, and meets K41 protection specifications for T3 systems. It comes with singlemode ST optics. Technical specs: Power requirement has a voltage range from 7V min to 12V max (typical 9V) with a supply current of 300 mA. Storage temperature is from - 40 to 85 °C, and operating temperature is 0 to 50 °C. The data rate is 44.736 Mbps, line encoding is AMI / B3ZS, and the interface connector is BNC. For singlemode, it has a size of 9 / 125 μm, a max distance of 20 km, a wavelength of 1300 nm, an output power of - 17 dBm, a receiver sensitivity of - 35 dBm, and a loss budget of 18 dB.
Using this Fiberplex FOI - DST3 - S - ST Fiber Optic Isolator is easy. First, make sure to connect it properly to your T3 or DS3 communication system using the BNC interface connector. You need to supply power within the voltage range of 7V to 12V (typical 9V) with a current of 300 mA. When using, keep the operating temperature between 0 and 50 °C. For storage, make sure the temperature is between - 40 and 85 °C. Remember that the fiber optic cable is sensitive, so avoid bending it sharply. If you notice any signal loss or abnormal performance, check the connections and the optical cable for any damage. To maintain it, clean the connectors regularly with a proper cleaning kit. This will help ensure the best performance and a long lifespan for your isolator.
