Product Description

The Gefen EXT - DP - 2CAT7 Display Port Extender is a great solution for extending your Hi - Def display up to 100 feet (30 meters) from a DisplayPort source using two CAT7 cables. It supports high resolutions - up to 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) or 1080p Full HD with a single CAT7 cable, and an impressive 2560 x 1600 (WQXGA) when using two cables. It's HDCP compliant, ensuring content protection. The receiver unit gets power from the first CAT7 cable, so you don't need an external power supply. Key features include extending video up to 100 feet, supporting high - res displays, HDCP compliance, support for DisplayPort 1.1a, and various useful switches like a 16 - position EQ rotary switch for cable skew compensation, HPD Auto - Calibration button, pre - emphasis switch, drive level switch, and boost level switches. It also has power on and link indicators and locking power supply connectors, and it's surface - mountable. Technical specs show a video data rate up to 2.7 Gbps, 1.2V p - p video output voltage, specific connectors, and an operating temperature range of +32 to +104 degrees F (0 to +40 degrees C). It measures 4.3' x 1' x 3.3' (110mm x 25mm x 83mm) and weighs 3 lbs (1.4 kg) when shipping.

Using this Gefen Display Port Extender is easy. First, connect the sender unit to your DisplayPort source using the provided DisplayPort connector. Then, connect two shielded RJ - 45 CAT7 cables between the sender and receiver units. The receiver unit will power up automatically through the first cable. Connect your Hi - Def display to the receiver's DisplayPort connector. You can adjust the settings using the various switches on the units for better performance. For example, use the 16 - position EQ rotary switch on the receiver to compensate for cable skew. Make sure the device is used within the operating temperature range of +32 to +104 degrees F (0 to +40 degrees C). Avoid exposing it to extreme heat or cold. When not in use, keep it in a dry place. You can clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. If you need to move the device, be gentle with the connectors to prevent damage.
