Product Description
The JVC KM-IP8S4 is a top - notch studio switcher powered by vMix. It comes with a minimum of 8 NDI inputs and 4 SDI inputs, supporting up to 1080p60 resolution. This 2RU device offers a wide range of outputs including 1x 3G - SDI output, 4x 3G - SDI bi - directional connectors (with mini - SDI to SDI cables included), 4x DisplayPort outputs, and 1x HDMI output. It's equipped with vMix 4K licensed software and runs on Windows 11 Pro. You'll also get a standard keyboard and mouse. In terms of technical specs, it supports multiple network video input protocols like NDI, SRT, RTSP, etc. The 3G - SDI video input and output support various HD and SD formats. It allows ISO recording of all inputs and has 500GB SSD for the system and another 500GB SSD for media and recording storage. There are multiple audio input options such as 3.5mm line in, HD/SD - SDI embedded audio, and more. Its dimensions (without rack ears) are 16.8” W x 15.0” L x 3.5” H.
Using the JVC KM - IP8S4 is straightforward. First, connect your video sources to the appropriate NDI or SDI inputs. You can use the vMix software, which comes pre - installed, to manage and switch between these inputs. For audio, choose the right input source like the 3.5mm line - in for external microphones or rely on the embedded audio from your video sources. When it comes to outputs, connect your monitors or recording devices to the available 3G - SDI, DisplayPort, or HDMI outputs. As for the network, use the Gigabit Ethernet port for smooth data transfer. Keep in mind that the recording time on the 500GB SSD for media and recordings depends on how many media files you store and your recording settings. For maintenance, make sure to keep the device in a clean and cool environment. Regularly check the cables for any signs of wear and tear. Also, keep the software up - to - date to ensure optimal performance.
