Product Description
The Palmer RMMS 8 is an outstanding 8-channel microphone splitter with ultra-low noise. It offers a direct output and a transformer-isolated output for each balanced XLR input. Four front-panel switches provide extra flexibility, allowing you to link channels. You can route a single input signal to multiple outputs for FOH, monitor, recording, and broadcast mixing consoles, or merge two input signals into one output. The direct outputs can supply phantom power for condenser microphones. Each channel has a ground lift switch to get rid of hum and interference from ground loops. Key features include a single-space 8-channel rackmount design, transformer-isolated and direct outputs, channel pair link switches, individual ground lift on each channel, and suitability for phantom-powered condenser microphones and DI boxes. Technical details show it has a split type of 1 in 1 + 1, 8 channels, XLR input and output connectors, a max input and output level of +5 dBu, and a sheet steel cabinet with a powder-coated surface. It's 19 inches wide, 73 mm deep, 1 U (44.5 mm) high, and weighs 1.3 kg.
Using the Palmer RMMS 8 is easy. First, connect your balanced XLR microphones to the input connectors. For condenser microphones, the direct outputs will supply the necessary phantom power. You can use the front-panel switches to link channels as you need. If you want to send a single input to multiple mixing consoles, just set the switches accordingly. Or, if you want to combine two input signals into one output, adjust the switches for that. When it comes to ground loops, use the ground lift switch on each channel to eliminate any hum or interference. Be careful when handling the unit, as it's made of sheet steel. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. To maintain it, simply keep it clean with a dry cloth. Regularly check the connections to make sure they're secure. And that's all you need to know to get the most out of your Palmer RMMS 8.
