Product Description

The Thor Fiber H-AC3-CMOD-ATSC is a compact yet powerful HD ATSC modulator featuring a licensed Dolby AC/3 audio codec. It's a great pick for video distribution in existing systems or buildings with coax wiring for North American antenna TV. This modulator turns live video into a digital HDTV channel that works with any ATSC (8VSB) set-top box, tuner, or digital TV. It offers inputs for HDMI or Component video up to 1080p60 for H.264 or 1080i60 for MPEG-2. Despite its small size, it delivers the same high - quality encoding as larger 19 - inch rack systems, without unnecessary advanced features like ASI or IP interfaces. There's a USB file storage interface for recording the encoded video transport stream from live sources. You can transfer these *.ts files to a computer or play them back in a loop through the modulator output, which is perfect for digital signage or system information channels. All features can be easily programmed via the front - panel LCD and back - lit keypad. It can generate digital TV channels compatible with all North American ATSC systems and 8VSB receivers. Key features include a licensed Dolby AC3 audio codec for compatibility, the ability to encode live video or play from a USB local storage device, inputs for Component HD and HDMI up to 1080p, and encoding in MPEG - 2 or H.264 video codecs at 0.5 - 19 Mbps.

Using the Thor Fiber H - AC3 - CMOD - ATSC modulator is easy. First, connect your video source (either via HDMI or Component) to the appropriate input on the modulator. Then, set up the video and audio codecs according to your needs. You can choose between MPEG - 2 or H.264 for video and MPEG2 Layer2, AAC, or Dolby AC3 for audio. If you want to record the encoded video, simply plug in a USB storage device to the USB interface. You can transfer the recorded *.ts files to your computer or play them back through the modulator output. When it comes to programming, use the front - panel LCD and back - lit keypad to access and adjust all the features. As for maintenance, keep the modulator in a clean and dry environment. Make sure the operating temperature stays between 0 - 45 C. The power input is 100 - 240 VAC, so you don't have to worry about voltage differences. Just be careful not to overload the USB storage device and avoid exposing the modulator to physical shocks.
