The Contemporary Research QIP - D IPTV Decoder/Controller is a state - of - the - art device designed for decoding IPTV streams. It comes with an integrated display controller. This device can accept MPEG2 or H.264 single or multiple program transport streams and is compatible with both unicast and multicast UDP and RTP IPTV streams. It also decodes and receives MP12, AAC, and AC - 3 audio. The QIP - D features HDMI output and offers video scaling from 480i to 4K. You can easily select channels, adjust volume, and control power through the front panel controls, a handheld IR remote, or an external control system. When used with an ICE - HE - DXL Display Control Center, Display Express, or a third - party control system, the integrated display controller can manage power and source selection on the connected display device. It has an onboard control database of RS - 232 protocols for common displays, and you can select the display type in the setup menu. With Display Express or an ICE - HE - DXL, no custom programming is needed for display control. You can upload a channel list of programs from a PC running the free CR Toolbox software, which is designed to connect and update CR products. Key features include decoding video over IP UDP and RTP streams in MPEG2 and H.264 formats at different bitrates, playing MPEG2 and H.264 files from an optional memory stick, selecting and displaying closed captioning text, having selectable HDMI video output resolutions, and multiple audio output options. It can receive commands from Display Express software or the ICE - HD - DXL Display Control Center over Ethernet for various controls, and the channel list can be updated from CR Toolbox. You can select channels directly or by going up/down, and control it via multiple methods. It also has an RS - 232 port for display control with a selectable database, and its firmware can be updated over Ethernet from CR Toolbox. It comes with mounting wings for easy installation. Technical specifications show it has a size of 7.25' (184mm) wide (7.85 (200mm) including wings), 1.150' (29mm) height, and 3.6' (91mm) deep, weighs 13 oz (369 g), has an aluminum enclosure with black powder - coat paint, and can be mounted using screws through the mounting flange or hook and loop tape. It can be powered by PoE 6W or 11 - 14 VDC at a maximum of 500 mA, has an IR sensor, a red/green status LED, and multiple interfaces for different functions.

Using the Contemporary Research QIP - D IPTV Decoder/Controller is quite straightforward. First, power it up. You can use PoE or 11 - 14 VDC at 500 mA max. Connect it to your network using the RJ - 45 100M Ethernet connector. To play IPTV streams, make sure the device can receive MPEG2 or H.264 single or multiple program transport streams. You can select channels, adjust volume, and control power in several ways. You can use the front - panel buttons, a handheld IR remote, or connect it to an external control system like Display Express software or the ICE - HD - DXL Display Control Center. If you want to play local media files, insert a USB memory stick into the female USB - A port. When connecting it to a display device, use the HDMI Type A port. You can select the appropriate video output resolution in the setup menu. For display control, the device has an onboard control database of RS - 232 protocols. Just select the display type in the setup menu, and you don't need custom programming when using it with Display Express or an ICE - HE - DXL.
