Product Description

The Fiberplex FOI-5401-RL5B Isolator is a game - changer for T1 DS - 1 or ISDN PRI Interface. It offers complete electrical isolation for T1 communications, making it perfect for high - noise areas or RF shielded enclosures. Unlike traditional copper wiring, the fiber optic cable is immune to impulse noise, crosstalk, and EMI, and it doesn't radiate emissions, enhancing communication privacy. For high - security needs, the 'R' units with added filtering and shielding for RFI suppression are a great choice. The fiber optic cable also allows for much longer transmission distances. While traditional T1 cabling is limited to 6200ft (1.89km), this unit's multimode optics can reach 2km, and singlemode optics can go up to 20km. A typical setup includes two FOI - 5401 units at each end of the network, connected by a duplex fiber optic cable. Key features include a 1.544 Mbps data rate, support for ISDN PRI services, 23B + D data passing transparently, 1310nm Singlemode LC optics, separate power options, and RFI suppression. Technical specs: Power requires a voltage range of 7 - 32VDC with a 600 mA supply current. The T1/E1 interface has a data rate between 0.75 - 2.048 Mbps, uses AMI/B8ZS line encoding, and has an RJ - 45 connector. It can be stored at - 40 to 85 °C and operated at 0 to 50 °C.

Using the Fiberplex FOI - 5401 - RL5B Isolator is easy. First, place one unit at each end of your network and connect them with a duplex fiber optic cable. You'll need to choose the appropriate power option, which is sold separately. Make sure the power supply meets the voltage range of 7 - 32VDC and can provide a supply current of 600 mA. When it comes to the T1/E1 interface, just connect it using the RJ - 45 connector. As for the environment, keep the unit in a place where the temperature is between 0 and 50 °C during operation and - 40 to 85 °C for storage. For maintenance, regularly check the fiber optic cable for any signs of damage. If you notice any issues with data transmission or the unit's performance, check the power supply and connections first. And remember, this isolator is great for areas with high electrical noise, but it's important to ensure proper installation to fully benefit from its RFI suppression features.
